OK, we had a chance to find a couple more places that I need to post the pictures so they don't get stored in the "never to be seen again" file. We spent the day downtown taking a couple to a couple doctor appointments. They last about 2 hours so we have time to nose around the area. Sometimes we just try to find a parking place and read a book!!! But parking in Boston is a nightmare-----well, maybe not. There are just NO places to park.

First off we went to the Cambridge Ward building where dad was baptized in 1965. I certainly had no recollection of it and I don't think he did either, but this "is the place".

Across the street from the chapel is the Longfellow House which, of course was the home of Longfellow, but it was also the headquarters for George Washington during the war. Don't any of the grandkids ask George Washington???? What war??????

We also found St. Elizabeth's hospital in Brighton where Scott was born (our oldest) in 1964. There have been so many additions it was hard to decide if this was the right place.


Crowded as usual, but you can see the old building in the background.


So, Scott, here's the old hospital where you were birthed and subsequently baptized by a priest that I thoroughly reamed out for baptizing my baby without my permission and baptized him a Catholic!!!! The priest never came back to see me!!

We had a few minutes to find the Old North Church where the lantern hangs that signaled the troops. It is in the middle of a VERY crowded area and we couldn't find a parking place to get out. When we take our tour of Boston, we'll have better pictures.

So now it'a time to go bug some of those Stake Presidents......don't you wish you had our job???????
