One cold day.....

One cold day with no one to see we headed south to Jordan's Furniture.....now be sure you pronounce that "Jahdan's". For many many years Jordan Marsh Department store was THE store in Boston....we remember it from when we were here in 1964. The store closed several years ago and they were famous for their magical Christmas window displays. Last May all the window displays went up for auction and the owner of Jordan's furniture bought them, refurbished them and set up a display in their huge store in Avon. It's free and a marvelous display of some old fashioned window displays.....simple movements...nothing like the computerized stuff we see today.

There was literally NO place to eat so the IKEA was just up the road and we ate there before going to the display. To capitalize on having the display they also had a Christmas laser light display which was fun (and only $3.00) plus a popcorn and drink booth, Santa Claus and a Polar Express ride in 4D---whatever that is. Have to include these pictures.......
















The detail was amazing as was the advertised price for a haircut......25 cents!!!!

Our next big storm is scheduled for New Years Eve....we're chaperoning the Stake New Years Eve dance.....wonder if they will cancel it!!! I know they won't want teens driving during a storm......
