The Christmas Spirit

Today brought the Christmas spirit to us!!! We met with all the seniors at UNO restaurant downtown for lunch and white elephants (had to be something you didn't want to take home. Then went to Symphony Hall for the Boston Pops Christmas concert. It was tremendous!!!! The orchestra and Tanglewood Symphony Chorus did fun Christmas music and the most fun was their new rendition of the 12 days of Christmas. It's downloadable at www.bostonpops.org/12 days . Twas the most fun version we've ever heard. The sun was out but the wind made it bitter cold!!! But I broke out in a sweat on the T with my heavy coat, boots and scarf!!


1 Just got home in time to go to the chapel for the choir concert at the church. Seven years ago the Littleton Ward started a multi church Christmas concert and this year they had all the major denominations..Baptist, Catholic, Congregational, Unitarian, LDS and a bell choir. The ward choir was three times the size of the next biggest group. Then each choir director led the combined group in a different song including the Messiah and "Baby, What Ya Gonna Be"....anyone of my kids remember that one??? And with the bells, it was a great program!! So we've had our fix of music.

The Hilton's leave Thursday.....this has been their 18th mission....some of them were at home. Haskells leave January 19, Sister Evans goes Feb. 2, we go March 1, the Jones go March 8 and we're the only ones with replacements!! We've exchanged a couple of emails with the Excells and they sound as green as we were 18 months ago!!!

Today (Sunday) we actually went to the ward we live in. It was the day we brought all the giving tree gifts and delivered them. We had food baskets for a family of 4 and a family of 3. Ours were so heavy we had the Elders bring them in for us. We really enjoy getting together with the Elders so next week we'll do apartment inspections and give them each a Christmas goodie basket. The ones in our ward have their calendar filled for dinners almost to the end of January. The ward loves them.

Gotta include the next two pictures.....the small group is the Nashua district in Sept when Elder Jones of the 70 was here. The other one is the whole Boston mission at the Temple taken last week. We do get a bigger picture on a CD---this picture you can't tell who's who. I'm on the right side in red......that power color!!!
