I........HATE THE RAIN>>>>IT"S DRIVIN ME INSANE

3 July........now really!!!! Is it EVER going to stop raining???? Today we had our first sun in days but alas, it did not last. We had cabin fever so decided to take a ride out to enjoy the sun.....WRONG!!! We got caught in a humongous rain storm...lightening, thunder and rain so hard the wipers couldn't get it off the windshield for evern a second!!! Flooded roads and last night a brand new apartment building had the sewers back up from all the rain. Imagine that mess!!! Even all the trees that hang over these narrow two lane roads couldn't keep any of the rain off of us. But it's very selective about WHERE it rains. We got home and it was perfectly dry. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow.


Last Saturday was our Senior Training Day...actually, an outing. It was Pres.and Sister England's last couple of days here. We had a picnic at the Minuteman Park and then we took off to see whatever the individuals couples wanted to see. The England's son flew out to drive back with them. Gosh, do we become so old we need our kids to drive home with us?? Another couple had their married daughter fly out to go with them!!! Our car will be so full we might have to put dad on the luggage rack!!! Some interesting things about the mission the last three years:

1. How many missionaries have served under the England's stewardship? 467

2. How many countries did they come from?17 Brazil, Italy, Korea, Scotland, Peru,Taiwan, Mexico, Canada, England, Portugal, Pakistan, Porto Rico, Japan, Philippines, Paraguay,Marshall Islands, and of course the good old USA.

3.How many states were represented by missionaries? 32

4. The number of copies of the Book of Mormon that was distributed under their stewardship was 32,508.

5. Approximately 920 baptisms were recorded.

6. They cooked over 125 planned meals. Those unplanned were too numerous to mention.

7. How many cell phone minutes? To many to even count!

8. He put over 50,000 miles on the car and had only one accident! (It wasn't his fault)

This was alot of fun to add all of these things up...wish I could have come up with the official cell phone usage but...too busy doing other fun things. Thanks again and to the England's, you will be missed!





We've toured the visitors center before so we headed to the Hartwell Tavern where the reenactment of the troops being turned over to George Washington was done. I guess we did see some sun that day. There are all sorts of volunteers that dress in the outfits of the Revolutionary period and they're involved in the ADL's (activities of daily living).











Our longest trip this week was to Connecticut to talk to the Bishops of the Providence, RI Stake. One of those trips where we wonder......drove 2 hours, met with 6 of 11 bishops for 30 minutes, then a 2 hour trip home! Did we get thru to any one of them? Did we help them see what they need to do? Do they care? Do they have a problem in their ward? Can they get their ward to rally round those that need help? And the questions just go on and on. We still hold our office hours on Tuesday and Thursday with no reponse. Well, actually we did see one lady on Tuesday and one man on Thursday but they had called and made an appointment. New York said we should make appointments required and then if no one has called we don't have to go sit in the building for three hours. I can dig that!!

And it's on to celebrate the 4th of July!!!!
