A Day to Remember

With my blah about blogging and not having blogged in a while I missed some important happenings in our lives. On November 7 we traveled to Exeter Stake to do an employment workshop. We'd just gotten home about 5:30 when I got a text message from #3 sister with bad news. #2 sisters husband had died suddenly a few hours before while he was overseeing a pool tournament at the U of U. Sounded to me like an aneurysm but they attributed it to a heart attack. But as my sister said....he died doing what he loved....playing pool. This was a monumental shock to our whole family. Our parents are still alive (87 and 93) altho my dad has lost 3 of his siblings this year, this is the first of our generation of cousins to experience a loss and in our immediate family of kids and grandkids, this is the first death we've had to deal with (except for Christopher, who died at 4 days 15 years ago). Three of us sisters dealt with not being there and decided our time would be better spent there later on as Jo had her daughter and 5 grandkids living with her and her son and family came from Costa Rica. But it was REALLY hard not being there to support and love her. Bob was a very kind, gentle, patient man and along with Jo they kind of made their own trails, doing the things they enjoyed the most. This also brought home to all of us how quickly life can change and how precious life is...we need to make the most of our time here.

Bob was an electronics professor at Weber State and he could tinker with anything you could find!! Besides playing a mean game of pool and strumm a guitar!!

But there are bright things to celebrate too!!! We have lots of birthdays in October and November and just 2 in December. Happy Birthday to all of you!!! And the size of the picture has nothing to do with how much we love you......it's just that I don't have current pix of everyone. Some people are very stingy with pictures!!

It's always difficult to get the news someone close has suddenly passed on. Sounds like you have a great family that supports each other. This is the last Christmas time you'll be away from your family! I'm sure you both can't wait to see them.
